A. T. Knott & Sons was founded in 1960 by Anthony Thomas Knott, pictured on the right undertaking his Street Masons and Paviours Work at the City & Guilds of London Institute in 1957.

Tony ran the business as senior director up until his retirement in 2002, at which point the day to day running of the business was handed to the other directors, Robert Knott, Tony Knott, Tony Melchior and Clive Short who subsequently retired in 2020. This move ensured the business maintained the key family values and practices that have made the business what it is today.

We’ve been working throughout London and the South East since 1960 and specialise in all types of paving work including, granite slabs, granite setts, all aspects of natural stone work, porcelain paving, clay and block paving and kerbing.

We currently employ 18+ skilled men, the majority of which have been with the company for over 10 years. All of our workforce are highly experienced and qualified to carry out all forms of paving work. Our employees undertake regular training courses to ensure they carry the necessary qualifications to enable us to complete work to the highest standards.
